According to the most recent data on Bloomberg’s billionaires’ index, Aliko Dangote, the president of Dangote
Group, has risen to the 72nd richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $20.4 billion.
With a net worth of $19.2 billion, the Nigerian billionaire was named 97th richest person in the world by Bloomberg
in January. Dangote surpassed famed Russian businessman and Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich,
who is now placed 132nd on the list of the world’s 500 richest individuals, to become the 83rd richest person in the
world in February.
For the eleventh year in a row, Africa’s richest man has remained at the top of the continent’s wealth rankings. He is
the only African billionaire to appear in the top 100 lists of the world’s richest people.
