Career
After developing his sound in the underground music scene for a while, Ckay made the decision to launch a professional music career. He moved to Lagos City, the center of entertainment in West Africa, as a result of this choice. It took place in 2014.

He became successful quickly and in 2014, MI Abaga’s Loopy Music signed him as a recording artist. Ckay also completed some work for Chocolate City Music Group as a result of the collaboration between Loopy Music and that company. He joined the Chocolate Family as a result of the 2016 merger of Loopy Music and Chocolate City.

On September 11th, 2017, Ckay released the EP Who the Fuck is Ckay?, making his debut in the industry. The extended play did well in the music industry and paved the way for his hit single, Container, to become a hit in March 2018. The song, which was produced by Tempoe, received a ton of airplay on digital platforms, which helped Ckay establish his reputation in the field and gain more followers.

On August 30, 2019, he made the decision to discontinue Ckay The First, his second project. The EP was distributed by Chocolate City. Love Nwantiti, one of the project’s singles, is credited with making Ckay a household name. His first appearance on the US Billboard Hot 100 was made possible by the single, which was listed as one of the important records of 2020 and 2021. This accomplishment was made possible by the song’s earlier remix, which featured Joeboy and Kuami Eugene and gained popularity on TikTok.

After topping several charts in Africa, Europe, and Australia, Love Nwantiti became a global hit. ElGrande Toto was a guest artist on the song’s North African remix, while Franglish appeared on the French remix. As Ckay brought Frizzo on board, the song was also recorded in German.

He appeared on one of Davido’s top singles from his album A Better Time, La La, which was released in 2020. Additionally, he was a featured artist on Ayra Starr’s album Beggie Beggie. After reaching the milestone of 21 million monthly listeners on his Spotify page, Ckay recorded the milestone of becoming the first African act to reach 20 million Spotify listeners on October 8th, 2021.

Ckay moved to Lagos in 2014 to fully pursue his music career. He joined Loopy Music as a production intern, which gave him the chance to work with well-known performer MI Abaga.
