Lionel Messi, the former Barcelona captain, wanted the Senegalese international at Camp Nou last year, according to Sadio Mane’s advisor Bacary Cisse.

Mane moved to Bayern Munich this summer after leaving Liverpool.

Cisse claims that had Barcelona taken Messi’s advice, his career might have taken a totally different turn in the past.

Cisse added, “Last year, he could have done it with FC Barcelona too,” during an appearance on RMC’s After Foot show. When it came to him extending to Barça, it was Lionel Messi who wanted Sadio Mane. He had given two names prior to arriving in Paris: Sadio Mane and an Argentine central defender.
