On Saturday morning, Chelsea, a West London football club, named Todd Boehly as the club’s new owner.
The Premier League giants stated on their website that the purchase of the West London club by a new ownership group led by Todd Boehly had been finalized.
Boehly succeeded Roman Abramovich as Chelsea’s new owner after his £3.5 billion deal was completed.
His consortium has been named the preferred bidder for Chelsea by The Raine Group, the US bank in charge of the sale.
Chelsea released a statement saying that “arrangements have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter, and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club.”
“THE SALE IS EXPECTED TO FINISH IN LATE MAY, SUBJECT TO ALL REQUIRED REGULATORY APPROVALS.” AT THAT TIME, MORE DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED.”
