Breaking: Presidential Tribunal Gives Peter Obi, Labour Party 3 Weeks To Present Petition, Consolidate Petitions Against Tinubu’s Victory
The Presidential Election Petitions Court sitting at the Abuja Court of Appeal has given the Labor Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, three weeks to present their petitions.
Consolidated petitions are due May 30, 2023.
This was announced by the court’s five-person panel headed by Judge Haruna Tsamman as the hearing continued on Tuesday morning.
The court ordered the plaintiffs to complete their case within three weeks, during which time it is expected to call 50 witnesses as scheduled, from May 30, when they begin calling witness and ended June 23.
In addition, the Presidential Electoral Court said the trial on the petition will conclude on August 5 when the attorneys for the parties must adopt their final written addresses, which will then set a date for the award. Speaking about the development on Tuesday, a member of Obi’s legal team and head of the LP, Kenneth Okonkwo asked for prayers from members of the public.
