The Nigerian Army has stated that it intends to use its retired personnel.

Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), revealed it on Tuesday night.

Yahaya gave a speech at a Regimented Dinner in Rukuba, Plateau State, for the retired officers from the 3 Division who will be leaving the division in 2021.

Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, the 3 Division’s General Officer Commanding (GOC) and Commander of Operation Safe Haven, spoke on his behalf (OPSH).

Yahaya commended the retiring servicemen for their devotion to the country and dedication to duty.

Their experience would be required as the Army fought to put an end to insecurity in Nigeria, the COAS informed them.

“Efforts to recruit retired professionals with a plethora of experience are still ongoing.

Yahaya stated that “these experiences are crucial toward combating all sorts of insecurity in our country.”
