A First Republic Aviation Minister, Mbazulike Amaechi, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to release IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

According to Amaechi, Kanu’s release will put an end to the recent outbreak of insecurity in the Southeast.

He claimed that if Kanu was released, most criminals professing to be campaigning for him would run.

“Right now, there is only one way to stop the killings in the Igbo nation, and that is for Nnamdi Kanu to be released.”

“If that young man is released, all of these crooks who appear to be lobbying for Nnamdi Kanu’s release when their genuine goal is to loot innocent and naive people will go into hiding because they will have no motive to come out.”

“The IPOB has disowned them and taken steps to apprehend them,” Amaechi told journalists yesterday as part of events commemorating his 94th birthday. “But, as you know, criminals will have their own ways of operating and claiming one fake thing or the other, but they are simple criminals operating one way or the other.”
