Tielemans of Leicester City has consistently been linked with a move to Arsenal, although the Gunners have not yet formally contacted the Foxes about a prospective transfer.

Youri Tielemans seems to have his heart set on Arsenal, but if the Gunners aren’t watchful, he might end himself playing for Manchester United next season instead.

With only one year remaining on his current contract with Leicester City, the Belgian international is widely considered one of the most technically gifted midfielders playing outside of the Premier League’s “big-six.” In light of this, Tielemans is anticipated to be offered at a reduced rate.

According to recent reports, Tielemans is eager to transfer to the Emirates and that Arsenal and the player have already agreed upon personal terms. However, as encouraging as that seems, Mikel Arteta’s team has yet to make Leicester an official offer.

The Gunners have yet to make the first offer to the Foxes, but it would seem that they are currently focusing their attention on pretty much every other target. Many anticipate that Arteta and company will focus the majority of their attention on signing Tielemans now that Gabriel Jesus has recently been completed and secured.

Instead, it appears that the club will compete with United for the services of Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez. After submitting a £30 million proposal, which the Dutch juggernaut promptly rejected, Arsenal was the first team mentioned in connection with the Argentine.

When United stepped in and made an offer that was higher than what Arsenal could generate, they already had the benefit of the player having previously worked closely with new Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag. A second bid then came, but it met the same destiny.
