The Nigerian police will re-arrest the defendants on a 14-count modified indictment that includes allegations of endangering the lives of witnesses expected to testify at the trial.

Amadi addressed the court and said, “My Lord, this matter is scheduled for arraignment but the main attorney is ill.”
She consequently requested a postponement from the judge.

Amadi was asked by Justice Ekwo if she was a police officer, and he questioned why she was in charge of Ijagbemi’s case.

“Do you work for the police? Can you wait on someone briefly?

Don’t you realize that, under the law, you cannot represent someone else in a position of authority? Ekwo asked.

Emeka Uchegbulam, the attorney representing the first, second, and third defendants in the lawsuit, did not object to Amadi’s request for an adjournment but encouraged the court to note that it had been made at the request of the prosecution.

Justice Ekwo set October 6 as the date for the defendants to enter their pleas while the case was adjourned at the prosecution’s request.

Precious and Anakan, a co-defendant, are being accused by the police of endangering the lives of witnesses lined up in connection with the alleged attempted murder allegation brought against them.

They were accused of “criminally endangering Bako Maina, Isah Kudaru, and others’ lives.”

According to the report, the offense is punished under Section 397 of the Penal Code.

The four suspects were previously charged with 13 charges and appeared in court on February 14.

However, in an amended charge dated and submitted by Ijagbemi on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command on April 28, the ex-wife was also accused of attempting to murder her ex-husband and their children.
