One Ayobami Oluwatobiloba Runsewe, a primary school teacher, has reportedly been detained in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, on suspicion of defiling a 13-year-old girl in his class.
The 25-year-old suspect was apprehended on Thursday, May 19, after the minor’s mother filed a report with the Ago Iwoye police division.
In a statement released on Saturday, May 21, the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect enticed the victim to his house in the Ayegbami area of Ago Iwoye after a school lesson at approximately 4:30 p.m. and forcefully had illicit carnal knowledge of her.
“The victim’s blood-soaked pants were taken to the station as evidence,” Oyeyemi said.
He originally denied having anything to do with the victim during interrogation, but when confronted by the victim, he was unable to say anything more.”
