Peter Obi, a presidential candidate, has denied allegations he put state monies in his own firm while governor of Anambra state.
During a radio interview with prominent Arise, TV anchor Rufai Oseni, the presidential candidate addressed allegations that he enriched himself with state funds.
According to him, he could have taken a lot of money if he wanted to; he claimed that “no thief leaves what he can steal.”
Rather than stealing to benefit himself, he claimed to have left 100 billion nairas in Anambra state’s treasury, and that if it had been the UK, he would have received the Queen’s Award for it.
