Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, discussed the results of the Nigerian presidential election in 2023 on Thursday.

He also criticized the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar for claiming that the judge must automatically accept his request only because he filed a lawsuit challenging the election’s results.

Bola Tinubu won the election fairly and freely, according to Fayose, the newly elected president and candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former governor of Ekiti State noted that while the election in which Tinubu was declared the victor may not have been perfect, it was credible.

He added that he was the leader of the APC supporters that cast the votes that gave Tinubu the victory in Ekiti during the presidential election.

This assertion was made by Fayose during a Thursday interview with Arise TV.

“Tinubu won the election fairly and with a swear,” the former governor claimed.

Commenting on the likelihood that PDP would prevail in court if Tinubu’s election victory was contested, he stated, “It’s feasible that PDP might win the election, sure.

But if it’s me, I’ll hire lawyers to make sure no one takes away what God given me.

“I was never secretly recorded asking someone to manipulate an election.

“Since I’ve known Atiku, he’s always gone to court. The election that brought Tinubu to power is credible, but it might not be the greatest.

“You cannot claim that Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu were responsible for the deaths of those that occurred during the election. We brought the vote that gave Tinubu the victory in Ekiti.
