Three candidates for governor from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Alhaji Aminu Achida, Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly.

The PDP Vice Presidential Candidate and Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa welcomed the defectors on Sunday in Sokoto State.

Former Minister of Sports Yusuf Suleiman, Alhaji Abubakar Gumbi, and incumbent Representative Balarabe Salame was named as the gubernatorial hopefuls who switched to the PDP.

Rep. Yusuf Kurdula, Sen. Bello Gada, a state legislator, Murtala Maigona, an active member of the Public Complaints Commission, and Sen. Jibril Gada are some of the others.

While welcoming the defectors, Okowa stated that the PDP was making wise efforts to rescue Nigeria from its current security difficulties.

He added that Atiku Abubakar possesses the skills and understanding necessary to address the many problems facing the nation.

“Atiku is the one to move Nigeria out of its present stage,” he claimed. “As a result, our country of tomorrow needs everyone in the PDP’s struggle.”

Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal expressed his joy over the defectors’ accession to the PDP in the State.

“You are all going home today. I’m glad to hear that everyone in Sokoto and around Nigeria is pleased with and confident in the PDP leadership, he remarked.

Atiku and Okowa, according to Tambuwal, are genuine nationalists who are passionate about the success of Nigeria. Together, they will provide the country with the effective leadership it needs.
